It will be Tuesday, November 8th, 2022. Elections are Tuesday. Election coverage will be non-stop, intense, dissecting, and I will not watch it at all. After all the blood-letting, the televised advertisements will come to a blessed end.

Do you hear the people sing?

 Sometimes we get lucky in our home movie watching. We may have wandered off to watch a bit of "A Team" or we wander on to this, Les Miserable, if we are lucky.

This is history, bloody and messy. The whole story is about surviving, being in love, fighting for beliefs, and having some tremendous music.

 

 Big scene, sets  up the conflict  and the students manning the barricade.  The   poverty of the poor is a shock for our sweet society.

 

 Of all the songs to watch, this one is a lynch pin.

As is expected, people will die tragically, lovers almost miss their window of love opportunity, the villain throws himself into water, the hero rescues the lovers. The music grabs a hold of the audience and will not let go until the curtain falls.

Victor Hugo was the author, THE author. There is so much that can be told about him and what he wrote.  

 

There are movies that are worth watching, several times.Okay, I could not leave this song, which every one in the music world enjoys. 

 

 

Colm Wilkingson is the famous performer that

set the whole tone of the musical.

 So, there you go. I did not to make this a movie review, and is now. This is a review of how awesome the actors are and pure music.

Afghanistan used to be a rugged country "somewhere up there" on the map and that it was vulnerable to Russia's invasions. National Geographic was active in documenting its history, people, and landforms.

Then 9/11 happened, and American troops went to this country, staying there since 2001. Our President has set September 11, 2021, as the date to start the process of demobilizing. 

How to come home?  Coming home from a 2 week vacation is hard enough, but coming home after being there?  From the longest war seen in the modern era?

Bring them home.  Bring our soldiers home. Bring them joy, bring them peace. Bring them home.

So, then. We are watching YouTube and finding entertainment, some chuckling. It's a switch from vacuuming and laundry.

We will have beef stew for dinner. It is a break from our usual fare. Did you know that Fridays are "Fried Bologna Fridays". Give it a shot.

Music is Eternal

In the music world, what is super popular comes and goes.  Do you remember any peculiar one-hit wonder?  Do you remember a group that came out strong, with a string of weak hits, and then disappeared?

Music has those in weak lines of music, and music has the eternal, immortal music that reverberates with every generation.

Beethoven’s 5^th? Handel’s Messiah?
