In many ways, people do not understand the implications of what they eat. The foods that people consume have long lasting results. What goes in will emerge out..
You have to understand three words that sum up the entire animal kingdoms:
Carnivore, Herbivore, Omnivore
The best way to understand this is to refer to a brilliant movie: Jurassic Park
Sam Neill was the actor who tied the events all together as Dr. Alan Grant, a world famous expert on most things Jurassic related. Through out the movie, he rescues the grandchildren of the park's creator and leads the humans to safety.
Against what? Vicious meat eaters...carnivores.
about 3 min. long
Then there are the...herbivores.
Then there are the...omnivores....
There are no examples in Jurassic Park of omnivores. At least not living.
Why did I write this particular post?
Sam Neill died this last week of pneumonia following a rare form of blood cancer called angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. His death saddened all who were familiar with his films.
Jurassic Park was so important, more than he could know. 1993 was a groundbreaking movie for many experiences. (Spielberg) The main reason was the character Dr. Alan Grant who was an expert on dinosaurs and the key to the success of this movie. Just watch the film. You will be drawn to Sam Neill. He is riveting.
After this had been posted, I made some real technical errors which basically almost wiped it all clean. I have just spent a lot of time, some tears, and tense moments involving some profanity trying to re-post.
The original posting was absolutely brilliant, cohesive, and pithy.
I was so saddened to hear of his death.
ReplyDeleteI know. He made some real gems.
DeleteI was very sad to hear Sam Neill had died, and I have never even seen the Jurassic Park movies, but I will soon.
ReplyDeletePlease do!!
DeleteSWEET memories.
ReplyDeleteLove from the first coast...
Good time, 1998.
DeleteI liked Sam Neill and was saddened by his death.
DeleteHe did some awesome movies and tv shows. Just looked at a list of some of his movies. Oh my. I have seen many of them, and enjoyed them.
DeleteI prefer being an herbivore, myself.
ReplyDeleteHerbivores did not live long in the Jurassic time sadly. Gotta eat something I guess.
DeleteThis is the perfect tribute to Sam Neill, Susan. I did watch several of the clips you featured here because I never saw this movie in its entirety. Very scary stuff if it could actually be replicated.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Pretty darn scary in 1993! It was novel and unique. Ironically, i was finishing up a dinosaur unit with my 2nd gr. I wrote an apology letter to parents, that I did not know about the movie being released.
DeleteI enjoyed this post, thank you.
ReplyDeleteSam Neill was a tremendous actor.
All the best Jan
There are so many movies he has done, that this is only one.
DeleteSome of us humans touch a heart or two, a few touch millions. WE miss um all. Love from the first coast.....
ReplyDeleteI hope the younger generations that follow after our grkids will know about him, about Jurassic Park.
DeleteI am an omnivore. I eat everything. It is always sad to lose someone especially with a talent like that.
ReplyDeleteI am also an omnivore, as many people are. It is always sad to say goodbye to some one like Sam Neill.
DeleteI just checked a list of movies and tv shows and I have seen none of them. Not my genre. I do know that this Jurassic moves were really huge hits. As for you are what you eat, that pertains to me if I eat sugar, I gain 20 lbs a month and get huge.
ReplyDeleteSugar is a curse for many people, myself included. I love chocolate and could eat a jar of Nutella.
DeleteI loved Sam Neil and was surprised and saddened by his passing. He was a very handsome man as well as a wonderful actor. I loved the first Jurassic Park but haven't seen any of the sequels. Perhaps I'll get to see them one day! I've seen lots of reels on Facebook with people who are doing a carnivore diet. Many haven't eaten a fruit or veggie in years. They look great and claim all their medical stuff is perfect. Not sure I can give up fruit but for now I'll decline any lettuce! Maybe they are on to something!
ReplyDeleteMany athletes are legendary for their meat consumption. There was Atkins' diet program that were big on proteins. I couldn't do it.
