These words are from Wisewoman, as part of Wednesday Words Please visit her by clicking on site. I'm guessing that many of you are tired of the snow. Yeah. I remember snow up on the porch and even into the barn.
As we head into another stinkin' hot summer in our desert of California, I will remember this photo.
Being from NC, I can remember only 2 or 3 big snows (over 6"). The biggest was 12" and we kids were over the top with fun, even the mill pond froze over enough to walk on. ...... Then later in life we met the real Mr. Snow in North Central Missouri and in Ypsi, MI.
ReplyDeleteMemories are the best, esp. when it involves children and snow.
DeleteWow. I have never seen snow like that - and would prefer it to our long, hot summers. Which may be ignorance speaking.
ReplyDeleteI will take winter any day of the week. Summer can not be solved. Winter can gave some hope.
DeleteDon't miss snow. Not one bit. Although, in Virginia Beach, we'll get the occasional "storm" which prompts me to proclaim, in my very best New England obnoxiousness, "You know what we call this in Connecticut, don'tcha? Bad snowing."
ReplyDeleteYou managed to give a tart reply,
DeleteYou had me going there for a minute. With the crazy weather lately I'd believe anything these days.
ReplyDeleteSt. Louis can have some heavy weather. I remember ice on the River.
DeleteI've been through a few huge snow storms over the years. When I was a kid it was fun but as an adult there were no snow days! Hospitals still run with sick people even during a blizzard!
ReplyDeleteSnow was magical, but that disappeared.
DeleteYes, we need that picture prominently displayed as we head into the hot months.
ReplyDeleteOur childhood was full of snow. Now we try the mountains.
DeleteSnow is an "event" here in the swamps, one we don't want very often.
ReplyDeleteSame here in the Temecula area.
