My grandfather had quarter horses on his farm. He love horses. You forgot that Willie Nelson says, "Mamas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys".

ReplyDeleteWith my back messed up I have had a marathon of Cowboy books from Amazon. Yep my heroes have always been cowboys.
Also as a traveler I love places in the mid west and places like Rex Allen's Museum in Wilcox AZ. And then of course the OK corral. OH yes Deadwood. LOL

Bill was a character for certain. Altho he has been gone 20+ years, I expect to hear his voice on the phone.

DeleteYour brother was a good looking cowboy! He passed way too young and I'm sorry for your loss. Having just lost a brother I know time won't matter when it comes to missing him. I love that song and Kenny did it well! If you're handing out favorite cowboys I'll take one Tom Selleck and a side order of Sam Elliot!

DeleteI used to love cowboy movies, but I don't think I ever had a favourite cowboy. We don't have them out here, we have Stockmen, Station Hands, and Drovers.

DeleteDear Susan, I heard recently that Clint Eastwood is now 91 and getting ready to either direct or star in another movie. He's just intrepid! As to your brother Bill, I, too, have a brother who is my cowboy--who's traveled his own road. He's so dear to me and I learn something from him every time we talk or visit. One of the wonders of living longer--besides just being alive!--is being able to look back over a long life and see the many, many blessings--like my brother. He has been pivotal in my life. Peace.
