Even though this is a digital world, our brains will grab our memories and hang on to them. Our great-greats will be able to see our own world, our goofy clothes, and places we have been. As the generations pass, we will appear on slides and our own "Super 8".
Remembering and being able to remember is the challenge. Wanting to remember may be good or bad. Or it would be memories that are hard copy, paper to be held in our own hands.
These videos are lengthy, 5-8 minutes. Watch whatever, listen to the words spoken, and think about that attack and the men who fought to save those in the embassy.
What difference does it make?
No Clinton bashing here. Just information that is being released now always is a great read. What will happen next?
Being grilled by anyone who ask 5 minute questions, would drive me up a wall. BUT I have never been involved in such a DEEP multi-sided, serious, national QUESTIONED TIME!
ReplyDeleteIgnoring what I have tried to say above, I will always take personal, on site, verified testimony above someone many miles away no matter how much data is being shifted via live cameras.
Very confusing time and remembering the photos of our ambassador being torn apart is vivid in my memories..
Sherry & jack remembering.....
I wish I could get that image out of my mind.
DeleteIt is easy to see how the word, politician, has become a nasty word.
ReplyDeleteI try not to paint them all with the same broad brush, but some deserve it......
Sometimes, if we can hold onto painting, we will might find our narrow brush.
DeleteMemories are tricky beasts. And sometimes unexpected things will have them flooding back.
ReplyDeleteYour first two videos are not available in my country.
I hope you can watch it someway.
DeleteI wonder if the nay sayers followed up by checking the security of every other embassy in the world. I know the answer, nope. Because there was no political capital to be gained by doing so.
ReplyDeleteThere are too many trails for the politicians. Follow the money.
DeleteMemory is a tricky thing.
ReplyDeletefinding and sharing the hard copy of all the info is the only way I will believe anything. If I can hold the papers in my hand, I feel other cannot be trusted.
DeleteWe have our own dodgy politicians here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteTheir moral compass is headed south, with no sense of right or wrong.
DeleteMemory, according to scientists who study it, is not a tape recorder. It's more like an old man who tells stories, and the story is always a bit skewed to make us feel better about ourselves. He can sometimes be very accurate, and sometimes very selective.
ReplyDeleteThat makes a lot of sense. My way-back memories are like that.
DeleteWhat will happen next?
ReplyDeleteGood question. I have no idea anymore, but eventually good will happen again.
That is my hope and prayer.
