And, down I fall, fall, fall.

Gotta respect the cat
Take a fall, I will,
Up or down,
Stairs or flat path,
Fall, I will.

Some say it is a talent,
Some say it is a curse,
And I just say
Fall, I will.

Not a tumble, no.
Not a trip, no.
But a full on down you go,
Fall, I will.

You ask why I claim
That I will fall.
You may wonder
Why I will fall.

God only knows.
I wish it were not so.
But this I can tell you:
Fall, I will.

You Tube: stunt man shows how to be safe when falling

My children and grandchildren have commented about my falling (which has been near disastrous) many a time. I shrug my shoulders and say the above.

This is a repost from August 2014, probably after one fall.  The latest was just a few days ago. I must let my back rest after falling.  Sneezing is the hardest. Please leave comments!

  1. Falling sucks. I have cataloged many of my falls on my blog. I was going to say something about how long it's been, but that would just be tempting fate, and I don't need that right now.

  2. Sigh. Me too. Or three.
    And I don't bounce.

    1. My last fall was in a hotel room , hitting the tub across my ribs. No bouncing there, either.

    1. I need to use a fair amount of common sense.

  4. You gotta be real careful when falling! Not so easy now as when we were kids.

  5. I did notice that stuntman got himself into the 'ball' fall position right at the top of the stairs, as if he was planning to fall. How many of us do that? Most who fall down stairs just trip somewhere along the way and of course our first instinct is to throw out our arms for balance and to try and grab hold of anything to stop the fall.

    1. My falls are never planned to rescue myself. I am really adept at slamming into whatever hard surface is nearby.

  6. Falling is the pits. I am constantly vigilant, and grateful for catching things to keep up.

    1. Keep going. With migraines, my balance is iffy.

  7. I would have to say my worst fall unaided by alcohol was on a walk where Scrappy and I decided to cut into the woods from a side path and I tripped on an ancient fence wire and landed square on my fat belly. Needless to mention, Scrappy was no help retrieving my lost air.

    1. Oh, those Scrappies in the world!
Of my disastrous falls, the worst one was in 2016 while on a cruise. Knocked out, concussion, all the bad stuff.

  8. I don't fall much but reading my blog you know I took a nasty fall in March. Broke my left wrist and my right elbow. So I'm glad your falls haven't been like that!

  9. Falls happen so quick there is no time to "prepare".

  11. While i've been blessed with pretty good balance, i admit i hold on a lot to try to make sure i don't fall. The idea of being hurt and missing work is too dreadful for words.

  12. Oh, no! I hope you're on the mend. Last week, I almost fell when my rolly chair scooted away from me as I sat down. My heart is still racing at the narrowly-avoided catastrophe. Good thing I had a box on the floor that stopped the runaway chair while I was in the process of falling. Can't blame the chair, seeing my ample rumpus descending upon it...

  16. I hate falling, it usually hurts. I tripped over a curb and went flying, ended up skinning my knees so it wasn't so bad. Another time, I was playing with a dog, tripped over my feet and slammed my shoulder in to a stonewall. It hurt for a few weeks but I didn't break anything. Don't want to try any stairs. :)

  17. Oh Susan, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you are recovering quickly, not too badly hurt or bruised. I can relate, though I've been pretty good of late. But the older we get, it seems the harder we fall. Get well -- or heal, perhaps -- soon!

  18. I have fallen up the stairs before. That sounds funny but it didn't feel that way.
