And the rolls keep coming in

Life is hard when you're lazy.
PInterest
Today I have watched Mythbusters, followed by Bourne: Supremacy. Currently, I am following Jurassic Park, which we have seen at least four times over the past four months. We have been watching Anime' Hunter X Hunter, we are now on episode 28.  By golly, I hope that Gon and Kurapika defeat Hisoka soon. I hate him so much.

Shortly after the toilet paper ravaging, someone mentioned that TP could be ordered online. So I did some researching and came up with some orders. What I ordered in March arrived in July.  The quality is quite different from Charmin's.

#1 from China, #2 Korea, #3 Charmin
Charmin, 2 ply
64 rolls, 3 ply
3 ply, Korean

Okay, the size differences we have clearly displayed. But, the important question is: which one is most absorbent, stronger?

The comparable sizes: #1 and #2 are the same size.  #3 Charmin is smaller.

The least absorbent is #3 Charmin. #1 also low absorbency.  #2 was excellent.

Good well-made product, Korea

Given my rigorous research, I guessing that we are set for four or more months. By then, who knows what product will find itself flying off the shelves.

This is such an odd choice of a post. But, the brain said "Why not? Why the heck not?" So, who knows what else will fly off my fingers.

1968: Take Me Away!

In Russia?
1968…was an important year in my life for many years, one of which will make you gasp, hopefully.

One girl in my junior high school English class brought a National Enquirer-like paper to school.  Our circle of girls encircled her as she read aloud:  “UFOs need young women!”  That’s what we are!

Apparently, alien planets desperately needed healthy human teen-age girls/women with which to reproduce, replenishing their depleted planet.  The first requirement?  These breed stock must be healthy, with no flaws. The second requirement?  These healthy perfect females must stand in an open area north of any dwelling at ten a.m. on a certain day.

Did I want to do that?  Heck, yes.  Anything to escape a male-dominated farm life of repeated drudgery!

Flawless?  I was a little weak on the one, being near-sited.  BUT the eye doctor said that this was probably due to the excessive amount of reading I did, and this would clear up when I reached the extent of my growth.

To prepare, I ceased heavy reading and ditched the glasses for a week. The night before the transporting I showered thoroughly, put my hair in rollers (so I would look like Mary Tyler Moore), and slept lightly.

Ten a.m. found me pacing eagerly in the wide open driveway and pasture. Here I am!...Please take me!...I waited over an hour, scanning the clear sky.  Nothing.

Why did I do this??

Escape has already been mentioned.  Another reason was I was darn curious about sex.  In a rural environment, birth control was virtually impossible to obtain, especially for an unmarried woman.  Getting pregnant by an aggressive teen age boy would be a certain lock in farm life.

So…I continued to think Here I am? Until my college years.  End of this post.

Wednesday Words: Hal

Hal opened his eyes to see an indigo sky dotted with stars.  That was when a surge of pain hit him.  Hal scanned back into the last thing he remembered.

Dusk…place to camp…horse stumbling over log…flying through the air… blackness.

Lying flat on cold ground, Hal’s thoughts registered with despair that his leg was badly broken.

In the fog of his pain, Hal sensed that his leg had been splinted, a fire had been built, his saddled horse hobbled, and a woolen blanket covered Hal.  His canteen was placed nearby, full of water, along with a handful of nuts.  But how?  Who?

Sounds came from beyond the horse.  Hal ************

P.S.
Delores provided two lists for the bold and adventurous!  I, being the meek and cowardly this week, chose list #1.

Please visit Delores at Under the Porch Light by clicking on the lovely stream in the right sidebar.  Some awesome writing will be had there!!

Okay, then.  What happens next?  Who is there?  Who cared for Hal?
