I blame this attack on language on two things: Who gives a damn and the computer.
The "give a damn" is our society's view on education, perhaps the most frustrating, being a retired teacher. That can be worked out. But the computer?
Word/spelling Check? Once thought to be a great help has been a curse to most people.
Mutation or Masturbation? Dessert or desert? What does it matter (except for the dessert one)?
