Information is readily available, both pros and cons. The term "abortion" is also considered to be: feticide: act of destroying or causing an abortion".
Infanticide, genocide, Judeocide, Matricide....all the words ending in "cide" refer to killing.
The issue of abortions are big in the elections and now the Supreme Court decision. A few states allow abortions right up to the time of delivery (even the day before). The above site has some information that might be helpful to understand the current situation.
Mother Teresa comments about abortion:
"What is taking place in America," she said, "is a war against the child. And if we accept that the mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another." February 1997 - National Prayer Breakfast in Washington attended by the President and the First Lady.

Once conceived, it's a person and one with rights. Not to mention a soul.
ReplyDeleteBeen nice to see so many states making changes in their abortion laws.
there is so much at play here. praise the Lord!
DeleteThe whole issue breaks my heart. How i wish we could work together to create a society where no woman feels she has to make this decision any longer.
ReplyDeletethat would be a possible idea, but that is what we have now, sadly.
DeleteUnanswered questions, filled with so many 'EMOTIONS', some fueled by mean people, confused people, and sick people. Also fueled by caring, loving people. People and lives are involved. The Subject is confused by many well meaning people. Too bad this has become political, the ending or continuing of ABORTION will happen because of votes, not lives. THAT is about as sick as ABORTION!
ReplyDeleteWhen an unborn's life is degraded to an entity not a human, that is sin.
DeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteAmerica went off the rails with Roe vs. Wade.
DeleteI am for a woman's right to choose. Her body her choice. All of these new laws making it harder for a woman for have an abortion is also making it hard for a woman who's child has died in the womb to get medical treatment to get rid of the dead fetus because it's technically an abortion the doctor or hospital has to perform to rid the woman's body of the dead fetus. But it it's not done that puts the woman in danger of dying. Things are becoming a little crazy.
ReplyDeleteCrazy is a good word.
DeleteAbortion is health care. "Late term" abortions are generally due to complications, like a non-viable fetus or health concerns about the mother. When those are not allowed, suddenly a woman's life is put in danger. And then she's criminalized for a heart rendering complication?
ReplyDeleteA certain segment of the population has decided to take up this cause as a way of controlling women. Certain women. Keeping them poor. Keeping them from having autonomy. Keeping them from being able to rid themselves of the remnants of a violent assault. It's not about abortion. It's about keeping women "in their place".
I can feel your pain.
