Every Wednesday, bloggers are challenged to fit unrelated words into a blog. This last week, the words were: field, frog, smell, check, visit, gate and/or abandon, immune, temple, hand, habit, minister. It's a fun to have a different genre and fit the words into a creative post.
River Awesome writer, go check her out.
I posted this at the above address, where other bloggers are also posting their offerings for all to read.
Freddie snuggled into the field grass watching the front gate where cars were checked in. Being Mother’s Day, one family had come to visit their mom, brought large bouquet and lunch from Taco Bell. The frog could smell the tacos and re-fried beans. Last year they had brought Kentucky Fried. How the prodigal adults stooped so low was sad. Freddie hopped off, into the pond. Next year? Who knows. Next year, maybe Wiener Schnitzel will be driving through the gate.
What could you create? I'd love to see what that is. You can post your work at your own blog site and/or the above site. If you choose to publish at your site, please link it back to River's site where other bloggers have posted their literary works.
This Wed. Words was created by Delores at Under the Porch light, which she no longer keeps active. She is a sweet lady, wrote some great poetry. She passed the baton to several bloggers including River at the above address. Hope you enjoyed my own literary triumphs.
Taco Bell - ACCKKK!
ReplyDeleteNot the taste treat for an elderly mom on a special day!
DeleteNot a froggie favorite, i am sure. Maybe another day they'll bring a better offering.
ReplyDeleteIf wiener schnitzel is a treat for her? Then get out the mustard.
DeleteI like the frog poster, who knew frogs could be so pretty?
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing. We lived near a creek and rain always brought out tadpoles.
DeleteLove your use of the prompts - and huge thanks for providing them this month.
ReplyDeleteI have so much fun with them. I would love to tell Delores that we writers appreciate her.
DeleteThese are fun, Susan. I love seeing what you do!
ReplyDeleteFun words, indeed.
DeleteI suppose it would depend on the mother as to whether that was a treat or not.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. Sometimes I would love a taco, sometimes not. Maybe the mother is like me.
DeleteYou did a great job, Susan! Maybe one day, I'll take you up on this challenge.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Go for it!
DeleteFun post and challenge. I think I would enjoy doing a challenge and I already had vision of a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house where you could smell the frog legs Gram had ready for dinner. The minister would be joining us also. I put my hand on the garden gate to see if the squeak was still there. I was so hoping I could abandon the party and secretly run to the field of wildflowers and sit and try and forget I just dissected frogs in science yesterday.
ReplyDeleteGot me chuckling. My brothers would go to a pond when the spring peepers were singing. Then Mom would fried the legs. I had one, no more. This a story that deserves a writing.
DeleteIf I tried that, I'd just end up trying to make a run-on sentence with all of them!
ReplyDeleteJames Joyce wrote like that, so no problem.
Deletebeautifully done as always
