When Evan dropped dead in front of his golfing foursome, Frank responded quickly.
With his brand new MyJoy shoes, he nudged Evan, and turned him over. “Damn!” Frank cursed, “Now I have grass stains. Damn.”
Clem interrupted. “Well, you did insist on a morning tee-off time.”
All looked down at Evan’s still body.
Jack spoke up. “Who will be our fourth?! It isn’t likely Evan will be regenerated anytime soon.”
Frank shook his head. “No help for it. Let’s head back to the clubhouse. We’ll tell the Front Desk about Evan.” He nudged Evan once more with a heavy sigh.

They didn't go back to the clubhouse. They tied Evan to the back of a cart and kept playing.
ReplyDeleteThat makes so much sense. Golfers are serious, even when it comes to sudden death.
DeleteEvan didn't mean to ruin the game.
ReplyDeleteNo, he didn't mean to, and his wife will have some words to say to Evan's body. In the meantime, Mike suggested tying Evan in the golf court, and play on.
DeleteWhew! For a minute there I thought they were just going to play through and leave him there.
ReplyDeleteMy husband golfer confirmed that some golfers have done exactly that.
DeleteClearly, they were all good friends.
ReplyDeleteWith this happening, their bond is even stronger.
DeleteEvan was dying to play this game. :)
ReplyDeleteHeh, heh.

ReplyDeleteI did like Bill's comment :)
All the best Jan
Bill was spot on.
DeleteSome men have no common sense at all. A team of women might have tried some life saving methods. The guys just stood there.
ReplyDeleteWhat does everyone always say when something like this happens? "Hey, at least he died doing what he loved". I guess that's a good thing? I'd rather live doing what I love and die doing something I hate so I can be over it! Ha! I can't hit a golf ball for anything. It's my cross to bear.
ReplyDeleteI am with you. Being happy because I am doing what I love just makes it more difficult to say goodbye. Otherwise, I would say "I am so outta here."
