So, then. We are watching YouTube and finding entertainment, some chuckling. It's a switch from vacuuming and laundry.

We will sometime have Bologna for supper. It is a break from our usual fare. Did you know that Fridays are "Fried Bologna Fridays". Give it a shot. Mark your calendar, Friday is tomorrow.
Live well, eat well, walk around the block. Read good books, change out of pajamas.

I sure we had fried baloney when I was little but I don't remember it. And I try to avoid processed meats these days. Baloney is about as processed as you can get.

DeleteBologna was the only lunch meat I would eat as a kid. I do remember people frying it, but I never tried it.
ReplyDeleteAt our local store, we would also order some pimento bologna. It could cost more, but it was a treat.
Deletepimento bologna = our savoury fritz, a slice of which was sometimes handed free to toddlers in shopping carts, but that is no longer allowed.

DeleteI watched the first video and have to say aprt from the size of the 'log', the bologna looks very much the same as what we call Fritz. That's here in South Australia. Other states have a similar product which goes by other names and doesn't taste quite the same. I remember days when the kids were little, dinner some nights was fried fritz with maybe a side of baked beans or something else to fill their tummies. School lunches were often fritz sandwiches with sometimes sweet pickles or tomato sauce. The dog preferred the tomato sauce ones, he wasn't a fan of pickles.

DeleteI remember frying bologna when I was young and had no idea how to cook. It was OK, but I believe my tastes have become a tad more sophisticated. Now I prefer fried green tomatoes (grin).
