Foods that surpass

Eager to try new recipes?  Really? Try this one!

This is a simple recipe: 2 pkgs ramen noodles, powdered sugar, raw eggs, ramen water, couple slices of bologna, mayo, and ramen powder from ramen bag...

Really that is all there is.  Just follow directions from the video. It is not difficult.  You can do it.  Can you eat it? Do you want to taste it?

How about this, especially for people who can possibly tolerate such?

Recipes from around the world are unique to the area and culture.  The ones shown here are unique to many people. The ingredients are usually the parts of an animal, ones that would probably/might never appear on a menu. Offal and assorted organs were commonly used.

Always check health standards of the country of origin. They are different from country to country.  Be careful. Get your shots.

Try one or more of these maybe?  Bring back a full report? We want to see what you come up with?

Oh, Bologna!

So, then. We are watching YouTube and finding entertainment, some chuckling. It's a switch from vacuuming and laundry.

Here is one you might enjoy.

YouTube, about 3 minutes long

We will sometime have Bologna for supper. It is a break from our usual fare. Did you know that Fridays are "Fried Bologna Fridays". Give it a shot. Mark your calendar, Friday is tomorrow.

Live well, eat well, walk around the block. Read good books, change out of pajamas.

God loves us. He is the One in Charge. Don't forget that. Live large.

This is from April 2020.  Try some fried bologna on your own. It is darn good.

YouTube, 3 minutes long: we got eggs now.

B is for....Bologna

Bologna: Food of Kings

Bologna…

I cannot stand the stuff, now.  But, it was once a staple in our childhood.  Every Sunday evening, we had bologna sandwiches, bread and butter pickles, longhorn cheese, Sunbeam bread smeared with Miracle Whip, and potato chips.

I recall how we sat down at the table, just as if this were one of my mom’s pot roast dinners.

My father enjoyed, no, he loved bologna.  He once told me of a vow he made when he was 9 years old.  His father had died in 1932 and the family was left almost destitute.  Every school day Dad and sister Helen placed left-over biscuits sliced in half, and smeared with bacon grease in lunch bucket.
Dad is in front center, holding the ball.  His sister is behind him in the second row.

That, with a jug of milk, was their daily lunch at the country school.

“I made a promise to myself, that when I was grown-up, I would have all the bologna I could eat.”  The other children at the school were better off; they had bologna and cheese on store-bought white bread every day.

So, on Sunday nights, we sat around the table and lived his dream.  The image of the pleasure on Dad's face as he took that first bite is fondly held in my mind and heart.
My brothers loved fried bologna.  Have you ever smelled fried bologna??
