Foods that surpass

Eager to try new recipes?  Really? Try this one!

This is a simple recipe: 2 pkgs ramen noodles, powdered sugar, raw eggs, ramen water, couple slices of bologna, mayo, and ramen powder from ramen bag...

Really that is all there is.  Just follow directions from the video. It is not difficult.  You can do it.  Can you eat it? Do you want to taste it?

How about this, especially for people who can possibly tolerate such?

Fried Brains (yes, it is sheep or cow brains)

                                            Or maybe:

                                                                   Testicle pie

Yes, this is made from real animal testicles.

                                                                 Donkey penis,

Recipes from around the world are unique to the area and culture.  The ones shown here are unique to many people. The ingredients are usually the parts of an animal, ones that would probably/might never appear on a menu. Offal and assorted organs were commonly used.

Always check health standards of the country of origin. They are different from country to country.  Be careful. Get your shots.

Try one or more of these maybe?  Bring back a full report? We want to see what you come up with?

Them's Good Eatin'

Section of iconic Route 66 stretching towards the horizon and mountains in the background, with a Route 66 road sign

Memories of good restaurants cling to everyone, triggered by simple smells, quick visual flashes, some notes of music.  Maybe sautéed onions with bacon bring back that little Mom and Pop place near the childhood home.  Or, is it the exquisite fresh baking bread that reminds one of a marvelous by a favorite coffee shop? The oldies on radio summon up a summer vacation when there were many summers to come.

Whatever the sense might be, everybody identifies with a familiar  place locked in the memories of good places or unique experiences.

What about a remote place, located in the middle of a desert wasteland?  And, if that restaurant has an unusual name, would you stop there?

                                                                Good food. Good people.

RoadKill Café, 504 W. Highway 66, Seligman, Arizona, is such a place.  “Unique” isn’t adequate to describe this place.

Their motto is:  "You Kill It, We Grill It!"

Located on Route 66  just off Freeway , the town of Seligman, AZ, has kept its old West and small town flavor.   The menu offers many fine entrees, such as "Splatter Platter", Deer Delectables, Bad Brake Steak, Fender Tender, Caddie Grilled Patty, Swirl of Squirrel, Big Bagged Stag, Highway Hash, Almost-Crossed-the-Road-Chicken, and other delights.***

The chocolate malt is the best, though.

These offerings have not been collected off the road. That's the vultures' jobs.

We are flying from CA to IL, where our son and family live.  They have 2 boys in preschool, and a sweetie 1.5 years old.  Posts will be up, leave comments please!

Are you being served?

When you hear that "Are you being served?" Who or what always made you laugh? Mrs. Slocum? Captain Peacock?

We watched Benny Hill after the kids went to bed, occasionally. He was unique and was a definite personal taste.  How he would survive in the current social atmosphere? Well, now. We know. We know.

Finally1996, the end of an era
The clip below is or may be the final episode which of course involves women and Benny.
