From the mind of Chuck Jones

Singing Frog  is my favorite. I took the idea of time capsules, made one with my students. No frogs,

Chuck Jones created some amazing cartoon characters over his career; crazy characters emerged from his creative mind, ending up on TV. As a child, I watched those cartoons over and over, not knowing or caring who did the creative work. All I knew is that I was always caught when one came on. In fact, they inspired me.

This is a compilation of some of Chuck Jones' most popular cartoon creations. It is about 5 to 8 minutes long.

“A lion's work hours are only when he's hungry, once he's satisfied the predator and prey live peacefully together”

“Every artist has thousands of bad drawings in them and the only way to get rid of them is to draw them out.”

"The Coyote is limited, as Bugs is limited, by his anatomy."

  1. We are also fans of the singing frog, even having a "discussion" about the correct wording of the song. -Jenn

  2. Amazing what we the viewer do not know. Yes there is a lot behind things we do not know. Thanks for opening just a little more of that. I was never much for cartoons, but our sons sure were.

    1. I would imagine dads were busy working, Mom was busy, so cartoons were our babysitter every now and then.

  3. I love Looney Tunes! When we were kids, my sister and I used to laugh SO HARD at Michigan J. Frog and his poor, sad-sack human! I enjoyed both these videos, thanks!

  8. "A lion's work hours are only when he's hungry,..."
Does that mean I'm working 24 hours a day?

    1. Yes. You might find that you have been working in your sleep. I have kneaded bread (a pillow) while sleeping.

  12. Oh man, the singing frog cartoons drove me batty. Nowadays I get how story works and why the frog wasn't caught singing, but as a kid...
