Josh Groban is a talented man with an outstanding voice. This is what he has give me today.
Josh Groban has been a voice that we all welcome. This voice comes from a depth he experiences about depression and anxiety. He wrote this song.
He is a prodigy who was surrounded by an extremely talented family which focused on music. This second performance above is from him talking about his struggles, how they led him down the road that developed his talent.
"Groban began singing in 7th grade and later enrolled in the Interlochen Arts Program to concentrate on his voice. As fate would have it, his vocal coach was friends with David Foster, a well-known producer, writer and arranger, and in 1998, Groban and Foster began working together."
May God bless and protect people with talents who will struggle in this world. He has a Plan for them.
That was really interesting, we didn't know any of that about him.
ReplyDeleteTalented prodigy, he has a wide repertoire.
DeleteHe does have a beautiful voice.
ReplyDeleteTalented man. I first heard him when he was 18 yrs old, singing with Charlotte Church.
DeleteI can even tell he has a wonderful voice. Sherry agreed. It is very hard for me to understand depression. Sherry has experienced it. I am listening to Josh and thinking of OUR twin grandsons who are super talented. One went for his degree in Music and the other in the cyber world. I wonder about depression a lot in very talented people. I always saw great musicians as 'hi-strung', if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy the visit here.
Sherry & jack
I understand depression all too well. It does seem that the most talented people struggle as well. Their brilliance must make depression more likely.
DeleteI knew nothing about Josh Groban, now I'm a little wiser, thanks. My brother would like his music.
ReplyDeleteI think your brother will enjoy him.
DeleteThe mentoring and encouragement are even MORE important in these days of the virus. I think we've all felt a tinge or MORE of depression during this time of isolation. Especially if you are alone, it eventually gets to you.
ReplyDeleteThis time period will have an impact that will affect the entire generation of school students now and into the future.
DeleteWasn't Oprah one of his early fans and supporters? He does indeed have a beautiful voice and tons of talent.
ReplyDeleteHaving someone to help and encourage is important. The talented performers have many monsters to face, and having mentors is essential.
DeleteHe is also fun to watch on talk shows.
ReplyDeleteI bet he is! Smart, clever, talented----
DeleteIt's great when talent can be nurtured.
ReplyDeleteMakes all the difference.
DeleteI love his music.Have you seen his new PBS special this week? I first saw him live before he'd done any PBS shows at a PBS annual meeting where David Foster introduced his new talent who had just released his first album. He was wonderful then -- who knew he'd be the superstar he is today? I guess David Foster did!
ReplyDeleteWe have recorded that show!! Will watch it this week.
DeleteI admire anyone so willing to be vulnerable.
ReplyDeleteNot many people can look at the success the talented and realize what happens to them when they step off the stage.
DeleteHe does have a beautiful voice. That's interesting that his vocal coach was so connected. Hurrah for families that support their children's talents and dreams.
ReplyDeleteGrogan's talent was recognized early, and his parents were wise.
DeleteAll young talented geniuses should have such an upbringing.
ReplyDeleteEach need that extra understanding and help to succeed.

ReplyDeleteI adore Josh Groban...always have. I think he is quite wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a wonderful, most interesting bio-documentary about David Foster on Netflix. I recommend it. I've watched it twice...the second time within days of seeing it the first time.
