And yet there are those who insist it never happened- much like the Turks over the butchery of the Armenians. "You can't handle the truth" comes to mind...
My mama knew a German Missionary who was in Prison during this time, not in the camps. BUT when released, he brought pictures HE had taken of a Holocaust camps. Piles of dead bodies, the stories of human guinea pigs. Stories of men and women worked without food until they died. I was only 7 or 8, but those pictures can still be brought to mind. YES THE HOLOCAUST MUST BE REMEMBERED! THANK YOU!
I've always been fascinated by the Holocaust. These seemed rather sanitized to me. Some of the images I have seen you probably would NOT want to post on your blog. I won't go into detail, but it's gross and heart retching. Seeing piles of gold from teeth fillings got me the first time I saw a photo. I applaud you for posting this, dear.
the last video is bone chilling and filled my eyes with tears. I see signs in our USA that there are still many who would do this horrid thing again, many that still want to see things like this and that is frighting to me. we need to rememeber and also be aware of what is going on now
Like Sandra said, it is horrifying that there are still cells in this country that think those were the good old days as they flaunt thier swastikas and hatred. I remember neighbors when I was a child who still bore the tattoos. We must not only not forget but must stand up to those who want to see it again.
Never forget and never again.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteClose to the bone here. He didn't/couldn't ever talk about it but we are certain that some of my father's family added to that dreadful toll.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your father's family.
DeleteWe must never, ever forget. Ever. I see very bad things starting to pop up around the world. Here, too. We cannot ever let that happen.
ReplyDeleteSuch horrific part of history has to be remembered but not repeated.
DeleteSobering reminder.
ReplyDeleteEvery human should weep.
DeleteThe films i saw in school are seared into my brain, and there are still those who deny. It boggles my mind.
ReplyDeleteOh, so true. I was 8th gr when I saw Trial at Nuremberg, have thought about it since. B/W movie, big names. Worth seeing it.

ReplyDeleteThat neo-nazis are so strong in their fervor despite all the facts and visuals evidence.
DeleteWe must remember this forever! I took a class at the university that dealt with the holocaust. I have never forgotten it!
ReplyDeleteStudy of this horrific event should be required in every high school.
ReplyDeleteSadness...so much sorrow...
