This little guy has two dogs, that he loves dearly. He does not share his toys with them anymore. But when he was younger? He was fascinated with the process, esp. when his mummy took them away from the dogs.
DEar Susan, I'd write the 3, 1, 2, 5, 4 scenario. Child on balcony, sees toy, picks it up, pushes it of the balcony, cries. But maybe a better story would be to start with 4 and then do backstory. Or to have 4 be the start of the series and have him crying and then being on the balcony to cheer up and then discovering a favorite toy and dropping it into space. I wonder if wonder or distress filled his eyes as he watched it drop. Peace.
Yes, the poor little guy was predictable in his thinking. He had been told that IF he did this, he would have to go inside. His father on the balcony with the camera did not say a word.
Life is a circle. When we are very young, we become sad and frustrated when we lose our toys. Move ahead 60 years, and we are right back in the same boat.
I showed my 12 year old the pictures. He said start w/ 4. "I wanna go outside." Mommy puts hat on him. He goes out to balcony, sees toy, picks it up, plays, drops it." Then my son changed and thought no, the crying was a result of dropping it. Either way, a sad story.
I think he was out playing and dropped his toy over the edge. The result - not a happy camper!

I am gonna go with 4, 3, 5, 1, 2? But with toddlers we should always think non-linearly I suppose :)

DeleteI thought along the same lines as Dee, and also hoped someone went down and picked up the toy.
