League of Pigs

Pigs have been part of my life.  From the days when they were wiggling pink pig creatures until the days when they are 300 lbs. hogs and are heading off to a new place, they were part and parcel of our farm life.

This particular show is called the "League of Pigs", and is incredible in that it draws you in and grabs you for every race.  The above video is 10 min. long, but just watch the first few minutes. This is the first season of the races.

I am rooting for Ginger, who is consistent in her performance. Enjoy.   Vote for your favorite:

Ginger, Hoshi Oinktu, Piggy Smalls, Pepper Sanchez, Bear Trotsky are the athletes in the first race of the season.

  1. Pig racing? That's new to me. I haven't ever seen a ginger pig, mum only raised the regular pink kind, one or two a year and sent them to the butcher in time for Christmas hams and bacon.

    1. Glad to know you are a farm boy. I slopped hogs also'; having no garbage disposal in the sink. I was the one who carried the slop out to them.

  5. If they'll run, why not race them, right?

    1. Pigs are delightful until they reach 50 pounds. We had a pet pig who had been rejected by the sow. It was fun.

    1. He is also one of my favorites, but my daughter encourages Piggy Small. It is a bone of contention.
