Pigs have been part of my life. From the days when they were wiggling pink pig creatures until the days when they are 300 lbs. hogs and are heading off to a new place, they were part and parcel of our farm life.
This particular show is called the "League of Pigs", and is incredible in that it draws you in and grabs you for every race. The above video is 10 min. long, but just watch the first few minutes. This is the first season of the races.
I am rooting for Ginger, who is consistent in her performance. Enjoy. Vote for your favorite:
Ginger, Hoshi Oinktu, Piggy Smalls, Pepper Sanchez, Bear Trotsky are the athletes in the first race of the season.
Pig racing? That's new to me. I haven't ever seen a ginger pig, mum only raised the regular pink kind, one or two a year and sent them to the butcher in time for Christmas hams and bacon.
ReplyDeletel know. Pig racing was new to me. We raised the pink kind, China White. They were the meanest pigs.
DeleteMight as well race pigs. They race anything else.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely.
DeleteYet another fact I didn't know, Susan. Watching the video was absolutely entertaining. Thanks for sharing about the League of Pigs. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYou never know what you might find.
DeleteCounty Fairs were the only place I ever saw a pig race. I enjoyed the video. Yep pigs were a big part of my childhood, I remember slopping the hogs....
ReplyDeleteLove your way from North CArolina...
Glad to know you are a farm boy. I slopped hogs also'; having no garbage disposal in the sink. I was the one who carried the slop out to them.
DeleteIf they'll run, why not race them, right?
ReplyDeleteI would hate to race them.
DeletePig racing is a great idea. I like pigs too.
ReplyDeletePigs are delightful until they reach 50 pounds. We had a pet pig who had been rejected by the sow. It was fun.
DeleteI was rooting for Ginger but I think Hoshi was the cutest! They are all so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI feel so badly for Bear Trotsky. He just can't get himself going.
DeletePepper Sanchez is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHe is also one of my favorites, but my daughter encourages Piggy Small. It is a bone of contention.
DeletePig racing is new to me!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
