I'm 'camping' a bit here too. Always grateful for the ones I know and kicking my own rear that I don't spend enough time learning more because they really are helpful (always, but especially when you need them).
Phillipians is a letter written to the church in Pillipi, by Paul as he was imprisioned. His letters, meant to encourage the new churches, also became part of the Bible.
I studied theology, our course was Acts and St. Paul's letters. And despite his misogynistic image, I've always been a follower.
ReplyDeleteSt. Paul was a man of his times and its view of women. He still held women in respect for their work in the church.
DeletePhilipians 4:13 has been my mantra lately. Thankfully I've got that peace that keeps me calm. :)
ReplyDeletethere are chapters in Philipians that I have "taken up camp"in, for the support those verses gave me.

DeleteHave to reach that goal
ReplyDeleteWe all need to have goals.
DeleteLooking back gets us nowhere
ReplyDeleteI personally have spent too much time looking back with regrets and guilt. This verse is a reminder to look forward.
DeleteGreat quote. I love that book. There is much to be gleaned in it.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteMemories can be comforting. Good quote, though. Untethered Realms / MPax
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you!
DeleteMoving ever forward as we should. Thanks for sharing, Susan.
ReplyDeleteUntethered Realms
Thanks for stopping by! Forward is the only way to move.
Deleteit is never good to only look back, we must look forward so we can grow
ReplyDeleteSomething like the path we have chosen or has chosen us.
DeleteAnd all I can add is Amen!
ReplyDeleteThanks you, Alex!
DeleteI second Alex...Amen!
ReplyDeleteAnd amen!
DeleteLove that verse <3
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me that things I have done in the past are back there, and that I must always go forward.
DeleteThanks for the reminder to always look forward.
ReplyDeleteJulie

DeleteSo beautiful. The word of God truly holds the key to all problems.
ReplyDeleteKnowing that makes bearing problems much easier, as God carries the load.
DeleteKeep your face to the sunshine and embrace life with optimism.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to the light, and ignore/forget the darkness behind...Yes!
DeleteSo often, forgetting what lies behind is the hardest thing to do,
ReplyDeleteSo very very true. The past is like a haunting ghost.
DeleteAmen!! Philippians a favorite book of mine :)
