Children view the world with big eyes, wide open and amazed. Everything is a thing of wonder. A dried leaf is worth carrying all the way home. A dandelion bloom in all its bright yellow glory is just the right size for a little hand.
To a child, everything is a miracle.
To an adult, who has seen the world through old eyes, all the beauty of creation is a repeat of an old movie.
But, then that adult has a grandchild. Talk about a miracle! Everything about this child is miraculous and brilliant.
Everything is a miracle, A. Einstein. Everything!
Yes indeed, most especially those brand new little snippets of life we call our grandchildren.

ReplyDeleteWith all due respect to Einstein, I think there are three ways: the two he stated and the recognition that miracles do happen, and that, in this incarnation, they are rare -- which is why they are miraculous.

ReplyDeleteThe little ones are indeed a miracle. I spent a lovely day with my granddaughter the other day, and I'll never forget it! She was definately in control, of everything! These are some beautiful pictures ...

No children hence no grandchildren. Just the same every day brings a miracle or two - the birds, the sunrise, things in the garden. Albert was a wise as well as a clever man.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely reminder. I needed to read this today. The Zombie Elf was sooo wild today. It's good to focus on the miracles in these moments. I should always be thankful he's still here.
