Melynda Fleury: A Fury to Behold!

Author of Just Nonsense

She has done it again!  That wild, crazy woman has come out with a new book, More Nonsense!

When I read her first book, Just Nonsense, I laughed and wept as she told about her adventurous life.  Nothing about Melynda is everyday.  From the beginning of her life, it seems that Melynda has never taken the easy road to anywhere.

On a personal level, Melynda is a supportive friend blogger.  My pregnant daughter recently discovered that she has gestational diabetes.  Melynda has had diabetes for a good part of her life, and was able to talk me down from being a frantic mother/future grandmother.  Her reassurance and advice have been a comfort to me and my daughter.

Having diabetes has terrible consequences, and Melynda has suffered many of them.  Recently her eyes have been "hit" by this terrible disease.  But, when I read her blogs, she manages to mix the tragic/comedy of her life.  "Yes, diabetes sucks, but...."

Knowing a truly incredible individual like Melynda has changed me.  Oh, not big changes, but the changes that make me a kinder better person.

I encourage you--No, I demand--to go to the following site and see Melynda's two books for yourself.

More Nonsense!

Success is measured by...

Day after day, we bloggers face a white page on the screen.  Somehow all of us find something that we find worthy to say.

Maybe it will be profound and moving.
Maybe it will be a cry for help.
Maybe it will be an observation that has inspired the writer.

Whatever the blogger puts out there for all to read, it is a part of that person's heart and life.  While it is really truly incredibly impossible to roam around to all those site, we can give our respect and responses to those we do reach.

AND sometimes...
a blogger takes a big huge leap into publishing a book.  I do not know all these writers but I will list/show as many as I can.

List of Gotta Do

I have a whole list of ‘gotta do’ going in my head.  It is a long list, and it is crowding out every thought circling around inside my skull.
Gotta:  Finish the baby quilts.  Almost done, these quilts are so precious.  I thought of my grandson with each piece and hoped that someday he would know how much he is loved on this side of the Atlantic.
Gotta:  Clean up my sewing mess.  Oh, my.  The mess of threads, scraps of trimmings, strips of batting, and folded up fabric pieces that will find their way into another quilt—they are scattered around my television room.
Why not in the sewing room?  It is too small and has no table large enough to lay fabrics side by side to see how they balance each other.  So my TV room looks like an exploded quilt.
Gotta:  Dust.  Dust—it is layering up on every surface in this house.  Soon it will be thick enough to put into a quilt as its own batting.  I am allergic to dust.  Allergic to pollen.  Allergic to tiny fibers from fabric, those tiny fibers that float in the house after a season of cutting on cotton.

Dust, cat hair, pollen, just about anything...

Gotta:  Find a person (besides myself and my husband) willing to enter this den of dust and clean it out.

I will pay good money for this.  And, I will make that person a lovely quilt.
