It has to be done! Betty determined. It is finally time to conquer that white line.
With a burst of speed, Betty raced, crossing "white line" to the other side of a busy road. Huzzah! Betty hopped around. It is done! I have crossed the road! With that, Betty clucked and pecked at the green grass.
But how long would her happiness last?
The above chicken story is brought to you as my take on the Wednesday Word challenge to provide a break in your writing routine, take a chance on leaping across genres. Wednesday Word day was initially started by Delores at Under the Porchlight who is taking a break from computers (and I don't blame her at all).
The baton was passed on to a variety of bloggers. This month Elephant's Child will be posting this week's challenge provided by Margaret Adamson and her friend Sue. You may write your take on the two photo prompts in E.C.'s comment section or write it at your own site. Please link it back to Elephant's Child, so we can find you!
Now I know why the chicken crossed the road...
ReplyDeleteI felt it has been an issue for too long.
DeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteThanks. A story for the ages.
DeleteSo it was all to do with the white line, good to know.
ReplyDeleteThat white line is vital.
DeleteSuch a brave chicken. And now she has done it, she doesn't need to do it again.
ReplyDeleteChicken brains are pretty small. Betty might think about the other side.
DeleteCrossing the road is sometimes not as big a deal as we imagined. It does take bravery though, and sometimes you just have to go for it.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does.
DeleteNext up, chicken vs. egg?
ReplyDeleteThat one is too big for me to handle.
DeleteI guess the grass really was greener on the other side.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought Betty was a person! I wonder if she has realised that she is going to have to get back eventually?
Betty realized that she is a chicken. She has struggled with this issue for a long time.
DeleteWhy did the chicken cross the road? I guess that's now been answered.
ReplyDeleteSomeone had to do it.
DeleteCourage to cross the white line..interesting.
ReplyDeleteMany life lessons in this chicken dilemma. We all have to decide when and why to cross that line.
