| Death to evil CATCHA |
For those who find
themselves sighing when a comment section has a CAPTCHA, this is for you.
Just WHO has the
job of photographing the house addresses? Let’s all say a silent prayer for
him/her…done.
And, who works to
screw up the non-words with artistic slants, bold letters, condensed letters
that share a common wall? Is it some
aspiring graphic artist? He/she must be
blind by now. Let’s all give him/her
some encouraging thoughts regarding this effort. Finding employment is difficult.
And what deviant
programmer created a way to identify or deny the typed answer? What went wrong in this life? Let us hope he/she moves up the ladder to
something else. You can do it! Keep trying!
This is the day
before T-giving, and I do not believe that many of you are typing and not
cooking. Do not feel any guilt about not commenting on this blog. It was a random
thought after muttering under my breath for the last few blogs.

That is something I have never given thought to, Susan. Now you have given me a subject to talk about during the long pauses that sometimes happen with company during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I know the silent pauses after all the current movies have been discussed, and people look around awkwardly. Glad to help.
DeleteHATE Captcha with a passion, poor fools indeed. But the first one there is no photographer, they use street view and snap a piuc of a random address, I think
ReplyDeletePhew. I was feeling so sorry for that poor guy.
DeleteCaptcha is a cruel trick perpetrated on the elderly and vision impaired among us. I have been known to forward through as many as ten before I found one I could decipher while at other times I have unlocked the clue immediately. I do not use it myself and so far have escaped any evil robots wanting to comment on my posts.
ReplyDeleteThe day is coming when we will have to give another form of ID or recognition. I am thinking about some artistic shape to put up.
DeleteCaptcha is cruel and sinister. An evil joke is embodied. Did you know it is not necessary to type the numbers, just the letters.
ReplyDeleteREALLY? The numbers made me feel proud until I hit the letter section.
DeleteCaptcha does my head in. Neither my eyes nor my fingers translate its ugliness well. Like Delores I have to forward through a number of its incarnations to get one I can (probably) use.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I find I am tilting my head over to one side and then the other, before I finally figure it out.
DeleteCaptcha can be mighty annoying sometimes, but I've gotten pretty good at deciphering the codes. It kind of goes along with my enjoyment of crosswords, Sudoku, and other puzzles. And I can't help but marvel at the technology behind the word verification. Now you've put it in a new perspective for me.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried the sound verification alternatives? Now that's scary.

Glad I can help you, Lee. Sound verification? Really? Oh boy.
DeleteCaptcha is "very high nuisance value." More and more, I'm inclined not to bother commenting on blogs of people who use it. Living with Humans is tough enough if you're a Bear, without have to understand Really Strange Things.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. Blessings and Bear hugs, Sue!
Typing with non-retractable claws must be awful anyway.
DeleteI hope your T-Giving Day was delightful.
Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, Rick.
DeleteI share your thoughts. I always wonder what is so precious in a post that one has to make it so difficult to get to. Many times I give up. Old eyes you know.
ReplyDeleteI'm in Bozeman at my son's and I do not have to cook. I'm tucked away in my own little apartment, enjoying the morning and remembering all the turkeys I've cooked. Now it's their turn.
Hope your Thanksgiving is beautiful with family.
Well...we decided to decline the invitations. I gave up cooking turkey with all the sides a few years ago. So, we went to see "Philomena" (excellent awesome movie), and ate turkey, et al at Denny's. It was great.
DeleteGlad your visited your son. Bozeman? Snow?
I am not a fan of it either
ReplyDeleteI sigh each time.
DeleteNo thanksgiving cooking going on here. Cold ham and salads are on the menu, it's summer downunder and we don't do Turkey Day anyway.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the captchas too much, mostly I get them right. I've come to see them as a challenge.
I know--like Sudoku and Jumbled words. I do those too.
DeleteI hate the stuff, but I have found that some people simply don't know they have to turn it off, so in some instances I have let them know and they have removed it. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me to turn it off, so I went into the set-up and such to turn it off. I have not looked back since.
DeleteMy husband brought his iPad to me yesterday day and said, "What in the world is this?" His first time seeing a captcha. I told him and he said, 'Well can you tell what it says?!?" hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteGod bless him.
DeleteI also find captcha very frustrating. The cartoon really says it all. Sounds like you had a fun Thanksgiving at the movies!
ReplyDeleteJulie
I like captcha codes because they look the way everything already looks to me, only they're supposed to. So I don't think I need to go to the doctor.
