Shadows

Shadows
Across
The road.

Long

Shadows
Across
The road.

Flicker
Light and dark.
Waiting
Growing longer.

Until sun sets
Shadows

Disappear.

  2. And when your driving, it's like sunlight through blinds.

    1. Light, dark, light, dark...my head and eyes do not like this.

    1. It is. I hate driving on roads like this.

    2. ...stripes on the road make for migraines for me. Strobe lighting ala trees and sun.

    3. Migraines for me too, so I close my eyes when I'm a passenger. I don't drive at all. In my brother these flickering shadows would trigger an epileptic fit.

    1. They must be amazing. I love to go up in the mountains on Big Bear Lake here in CA.

  5. This photograph reminds me of a picture I purchased from an artist just starting. Her first picture. Mentally change the road to a country road leading to a farm house, and two youngsters walking home. The trees are the same. "My teacher made me do the shadows over and over, to get them right."

    1. She was a sweet heart. "...do the shadows over and over, to get them right..." The picture must be comforting to view.

  6. They are beautiful and evocative while static, but I agree with you about strobe shadows. Not good. Not good at all. Pain and nausea shadow my world if I am forced to endure them.

    1. My husband drives, esp. when it is that time of day. Shadows and light are perfect in a photo.

  8. Hi Susan,

Brilliant. I pine for such shadows before the sun embraces the horizon.

    Thank you, Susan.

  10. Love that image, very thought provoking. And your words are perfect. I like watching shadows, until the disappear, swallowed by the coming darkness of all. x
