Oh, Molebut!

Forget about watching re-runs of NCIS.  Forget about Netflix.  Forget about texting.

Grandpa and I gathered our daughter and husband, along with our two tween granddaughters for a night of Mexican food and game playing.

A "Game Night" is above and beyond all definitions of fun.  This was a blast as we played Balderdash.  Not just the average Balderdash, but we played the Beyond Balderdash version.

To truly understand this game, you will need to visit the above YouTube site.

The word chosen was molebut, which elicited a bunch of crazy answers. This is Sunshine's false answer:

Sunshine's version of this definition

Brilliant child.  Eleven years old, Sunshine thinks outside, way outside, the box.

Look up molebut just for the heck of it.

Forget about DVD or World of War Craft.  Game night is an awesome way to spend time together.

  1. Game night can sure be fun. We'll skip the reruns of NCIS either way. Molebut is a fish?

  3. Huh....I would have thought a molebut was, you know, a mole butt.

  4. Playing games with my competitive family frequently resulted in aggression. And my mind would also have immediately leapt to thinking of a mole's fundament.

    1. We had a great time, and plan to repeat this experience with another game soon.

  5. Game night is fun. Provided everyone can play and arguments don't break out. (Sadly, this happens far too frequently in my family.)

    1. Oh, when you play with gr-kids ( young), tempers are generally kept in check. But, once my husband's family played War (an old board game) and it went on for TWO days. Lots of grudges there.

  6. I've never heard of Molebut before. It's been a long time since I played board games with anyone.

  8. A molebut is a type of sunfish, a bony fish that is the heaviest of its variety in the ocean. It is not for being eaten by humans.

It is an odd word, for sure. The info is from Wikipedia.

  9. That's a cute little mole butt she drew. ;) We like Game Night here too. My grandma did it with me, and it's a tradition I've carried on with all four of my kids. The balloon popping game is a fave (oy!). ;) We like the traditional games too, but that one really gets them all laughing.

  10. Never played these games or heard of a molebut. I enjoy games, but we rarely play any mainly because my wife isn't interested and there is no one else here to play with. I do get to enjoy Scrabble when I go to visit my daughters or sisters. Otherwise it's a lot of Solitaire in my life.
