Smoke in the Air or Lungs, Whatever

This past month has hit me hard, both with its treacherous heat (106 deg., heat advisory warnings) and its effect on my brain.

I wonder about this possible treatment?

YouTube has a variety of marijuana experiences to view.

Should I give this a try?  It is legal here in California.  What do you think?

God bless Joanne Noragon who is still wrestling with effects of a stroke and a fall. Joanne never does anything halfway.  Excellent writer, sharp.

  1. Good on Joanne for being such a fighter. I'm afraid I am unable to offer advice on those questions of yours. Greetings!

    1. Good to hear from you! I don't have any experience with weed either.

  2. Joanne is inspirational. And much sharper than she realises.
Marijuana helps for a number of very different conditions I believe. Check with your doctor? And I would opt for oils rather than smoking.

    1. Other people has also recognized oil as more helpful.

  3. You only live once I'm told....go for it. Would I? Maybe if I was in severe pain and it was touted to help. You get those terrible headaches. Maybe it will help..or...just make you act silly. Which ever...it sounds like it might be fun to try.

    1. My mother lived the last years of her life in such pain and I wish this had been an option for her back then.

As for me, I don't know. But seeing this video made me laugh.

  4. I tried them back in the day, at a party, way out in the country, then drove my girlfriend's car back to Princeton with the handbrake on the entire way. But at home, close to your own bed, maybe it would be worth a try, particularly for those who are suffering from pain or other debilitating things.

    1. Using this drug requires some serious thought about the consequences for the casual user.

For pain relief, those people would take just about anything to help with that torture.

  5. I would definitely try it if it would relieve pain. Check with your doctor first. Maybe you can get it in a cookie, or as they did when I was young, a brownie. The oil is the way to go, but if you want to mellow down, enjoy, but never tell your kids.

I have heard about the oil, and it made me wonder.

  6. I have no advice to give on the marijuana front. You'll have to decide if it's right for you. Good luck.

    1. It is a decision many elderly residents in our community have made, and appreciate how it has helped.

  7. I don't care how good any reviews are, I will never try marijuana for anything, ever.
I've seen what it did to my son and his partner, he is off it now, but she is addicted and occasionally dabbling in stronger stuff I think. Her behaviour indicates she is, but I can't be sure, but I worry so much for the grandchildren that I rarely see, because she is very jealous if they love anyone but her.

    1. After watching traffic accidents and fatalities increase in CO, it is clear that weed should not be a recreational drug. As a medical product, esp. for those with cancer and other pain illness, weed has been effective.

      Weed definitely must be monitored.

  8. If one has super pain and it takes it away, go for it. But if someone tries to tell you it isn't addicting or it won't make you dumber(at least younger people I've seen do it get dumber) then they are lying. Also smoking it, or anything, can give you lung cancer. Oil is the best bet.

    1. I know of the ladder it moves users up from weed to serious drugs. Also, when a teen starts a drug, it basically freezes that user at that emotional/social level. User will always be, say, 15 yrs. old even though time says he should be 30. This was so clear in parents of students I dealt with throughout the years.

I agree. Oil is the best way to carefully use weed, in an equally effective manner.

  9. If it's legal and could help with pain I'd go for it. People (seniors) are flocking to health food stores here to buy the oil and it appears to help. I saw brownies on the counter one evening, several years ago, made by my son. He hadn't said they were for any special reason or that they werte "special" brownies, so, being a brownie afficionado and in need of a chocolate fix, I helped myself. It was so tasty I helped myself to another. I was vaguely aware that they didn't taste quite like MY brownies but didn't think too much of it - until later, when I woke in the middle of the night and thought for sure I was dying! Seems brownies are fairly strong, not for rookies. But I have heard good things about the oil which does not get you high.
Your video of the grannies was hilarious!

    1. I do. My ventures outside are when my husband gets home from work and I duck into car a/c. 112 deg. with high barometric air pressure is hard on anyone.

  12. If you do, I hope you'll share the outcome with us. I'm very curious!

  13. Warm thoughts to your friend, Joanne.

Not a fan of marijuana here at all, but I know a blogger who swears by the healing power of the oil.
