What Is Man?

Source: David Flowers
When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers,

The moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained,

What is man, that Thou art mindful of him?

And the Son of Man, that Thou visitest him?

For Thou has made him a little lower than the angels,

And hast crowned him with glory and honor.

Psalm 8: 3-5

Bible verse - Psalm 8,4 - What is man that you are mindful of him - 2013

    1. Sometimes I wonder...just how low Man can sink...surely current events makes me ask that question, too.

  2. We are better than the angels - we are God's children and they are His servants.

    1. Upon reading some explanations about that line ( which confused me, too), "Son of Man" refers to Christ, and "Thou has made him/Him a little lower than the angels" refers to Christ becoming man. Good verse.

    1. My F-I-L used to say that this country is "going to hell in a hand basket". I think the both would get along.

  5. It is good to not think more highly of oneself than they should, but on the other hand, no one would exist unless our Heavenly Father personally wanted them to.

  6. Beautiful thoughts. We are all made of the same stuff, have the same potential, suffer in the same way.

  7. I think therefore I am - but I can't take credit for those words, still I do believe we become what we think. Isn't it interesting, where did all the sea of energy in the universe come from? Thinking breathing living lifeforms are all connected on earth and beyond.
