Where have all the Thin Mints gone?

Thin Mints
Girl Scouts
Where have all the thin mints gone?
Too soon paaaasssing.
Where have all the thin mints gone?
Just weeks ago.

I bought armfuls of these delights,
Put them in my freezer
They were out of sight.
But I ate them anyway,

One, two, three, eeeevery day.

Now those green boxes are all gone.
Girl Scouts tricked me with this treat.
They smiled at me, I took the bait.
When will I ever learn?

When will I eeever learn?

Next year I'll do something else.
I'll back up the car, open the trunk.
"Load those green boxes, girls,
Fill up the car, and here's the cash!"

Here is the cash.

I think then I will learn,
I'll freeze then in the freezer
And lock it tight.
I will looooock it tight.

Looooock it tight?

It is Girl Scout Cookie Season!

Sing this to "Where have all the flowers gone?"  Forgive the meter, forget the rhyme.  I have a few thin mints left, but I won't tell you where.

  1. Yes - I am down to one box in the freezer. Freezing does nothing to prevent me eating a whole tube at once. :) I was thinking of bringing in the last box to work - yet I didn't.

    1. There are some treats one must keep. Do you have any bags of left-over Halloween treats?

  2. I only bought one box this year and hid it in the back of the pantry. I forgot about it - for awhile. When I came upon it one snowy day, it lifted my spirits so. It was truly a blessing and I ate them all in one day and I am not ashamed one bit. Joys have been few a far apart this horrid winter and those thin mints were so much appreciated. Girl Scouts Rule!

  9. I am grateful we don't have them here. Very grateful. I am not grateful for the ear worm which seems to have nestled firmly into my head (plenty of space for it to make itself comfortable).

  11. Hi Susan, just dropping in and so sad that we don't get these lovely cookies here in Ireland, though being a coeliac now I don't think I could have them anymore. It's just one of those things I miss about living in America.

  12. I remember Girl Scout cookies. Shortbreads were my downfall. Thankfully, I have run out of Girl Scouts.

    1. shortbreads are my second choice, while my hubby likes the Samoan, which makes me gag. Personal choices.
Here, the G.S. sell cookies outside the supermarkets. They grab you when you are at your weakest.

  13. I love This Mints. I try to stay away from them. Even when I buy boxes full (and I have to as the cute girls in front of the grocery store ask so very politely if I would), I do try to stay away from them. Yet, soon after I deposit them in the fridge, the disappear. A mystery, I tell you. :)

  16. You should try viscounts, delicious. Its a classic creamy mint biscuit with orange flavouring perfect for the uber cookie monster.

    1. Viscounts? Purchasable in market? I will look them up! This sounds like the best of all in the cookie world.

  17. This is the first year I've refrained from purchasing Girl Scout cookies...I guess I've finally decided to take my diabetes seriously! I hate when that happens! LOL

    1. My husband has done really well in restraint this year for diabetes' sake. But I still feel a bit of guilt when I eat them in front of him.

  18. Ha! I try stocking up and hiding them too, but I always end up eating them within a day or so... & then it's a cookie hang over for me!

  19. We don't get Thin Mints out here, which is probably a good thing. My pants are tight enough around my waist as it is.
I do the buy and freeze thing too, it never works. It does slow me down a bit though. If I have to get up and walk all the way to the kitchen, (it's five steps), then rummage in the icy depths, well, sometimes I won't bother.

    1. Put them under the freezer burned back of veggie. It slows you down a bit.

My thin mints are gone too. I think it's a conspiracy :)
