Wishes for the East and for the West

dry brown centre2: dry and rocky terrain in Central Australia
Source: TACLUDA...Adrian van Leen
As the Northwestern wind blows across the east, adding and taking away, the West wishes ice and snow could be packed all up, send it to California, and take away some of the freezing misery.

What can be said?  Eastern Freeze will pass (sometime). Western drought means the drying heat will turn to fire.

The Mamas and the Papas---such memories!  The Beach Boys presented the idyllic California life and many bands carried on with this theme.  It must be noted that was then...

The photographer, Adrian van Leen, credited above is very talented.  Please check out his site, and learn more about him.

Seems everyone's sick of the weather these days - wherever they are.

    1. I think the photo is actually from Australia, but it looks like much of So. Calif.

  4. We have had it here in the east and it has been more than difficult. People have been out of power for a week and the temps are in the teens. Awful, awful, awful!

I always keep my eyes on California because that is where my daughter lives. I see there is relief up in the San Francisco area with lots of rain. Hopefully, it will continue until people are sick of it and the water has been replenished. I hope some drops will fall on you in the southern half of the state. It is such a beautiful area and even if we did not have this horrible weather this year, San Diego is the place I would like to live.

    1. Up north, they are getting some rain. Just not enough to raise the levels in the reservoirs.

    1. Why not? She did not receive much credit for her part in this group. Her weight was the focus of the media.

  6. We're to get ice and snow tomorrow. Will gladly send it your way.

  7. A world-wide case of 'wish it was over'. Any winter sent this way will be gladly received. Some rain would be more than welcome too.
Sometimes I think that the Lord of the Weather needs a lesson in moderation. Often I think that...

    1. My lilac bushes are very confused at this point. They are starting to leaf out; usually this happens in mid-March.

    1. In a way, it is like being two weeks overdue at the 9th month.

  9. We did get some nice rain in the part of L.A. where I live last week, but I'm sure it was not nearly enough to make much impact. Maybe we'll get more.

  12. We're going to be cold tonight too. I've heard the possibility of snow flurries, but I'll believe that when I see it. Stay warm.

  13. Ah yes.....That snow looks like the stuff I was wading through on my walk yesterday (no kidding) I felt like Rocky in training. I get a kick out of those white go-go boots. I bet every gal had a pair at that time. And the short skirts just coming in.... we really thought we were "HOT STUFF."

  18. Hi Susan,

California craves rain. The east of North America freezes. England and Wales are suffering with the worst floods ever known. The weather is a worry.

    1. I think "global warming" was a misnomer. Global climate change is more accurate. And we all are in the swirling mess.
