One who observes and thinks about what has been seen, what has passed by my way, what greater meaning lies behind and beneath life's small events.
Brave indeed and deserve everyones respect.
A day to honor those who served and a day to remember.
Thanks for sharing such a great poem!
This morning we went to a Memorial Day service at a cemetery near us. The VFW presented the program and the Boy and the Girl Scouts participated. Veterans from WW2, Korean, Vietnam, Gulf, Irag, and Afghanistan were present. My husband and I were humbled by their dignity and honor. This is the way to spend Memorial Day.
My husband and brother both served and I am proud of them both. I am also thankful that while they served during the terrible years of the Vietnam era, they never had to go into battle.
Happy Memorial Day - and I love that you spent the day appropriately and didn't just claim a 'holiday'.
Go ahead...it won' t hurt...I'd love to hear what you think!
