Wednesday Words: Old Woman

Old fingers and old hands
Slide colored threads
Warp and weft
Under shimmering sun overhead.

Graceful dance
As fabric grows.
Long gray braid draping
Down her back flows.

Old woman and old loom
Old tree and old sand.
Woolen threads weave,
Woven in an ancient land.

  1. My students read this book and it provoked so much discussion. Your words inspired the memory. Thanks.

  2. Wonderfully done, and of course have to like when rhyme is given a run.
