H is for...

Hope.  Of all the emotional constructs, HOPE is one of the few things that we can NOT live without.

Hope means the difference in living another day, another week, or whatever when it would be so much easier to give up and let life slip away.

Hope is an intangible veil that wraps around those who are barely able to continue, and holds them together.

Hope is a promise that there is a treatment out there which will extend life by a few more months, a year, or more.

Hope is the job waiting for a jobless person.

Hope is a teacher’s eyes looking into a student’s eyes, saying silently, “I believe in you.”

Hope is love from God, who says, “I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you a future and a hope…”

Hope.  It is so many things.
Without hope, I wouldn't be here.  The glory and credit belongs to God, and God alone.

  1. Sometimes it is just the small things, day to day, that we hope for. Hope that it will be a sunny day, that the car bill won't be too big, that the birds will come to the new feeder. When we are reassured with the small things we dare to hope for bigger.

  2. Without hope there is no life, one has to have hope to get from one day to the next.

    Wonderful post,

  3. Well said! Thanks for the reminder.

  4. Hope is the eternal quest that keeps us going. I love this. And I love the cat. Cats don't hope. They assume. Loved your post and will be back.

  9. I guess i hadn't thought about this before - but you're absolutely right! Hope is what keeps everyone going, gets everyone through each day. It's sort of taken for granted a lot of the time. But each day when we go to work or whatever, we are working towards a future - a future we're hoping for.

  10. What a perfectly written piece.

    Thank God for hope.
